Tesco laptops, have you got the right one?

Just wanted to share this with you people. If anyone bought a laptop from Tesco make sure you check the number because last week i bought a Laptop from Tesco and i thought i got the one i wanted which was Acer 5920 for £499. I came home set it all up and it was fine and then i saw on the machine saying Acer 5715Z and then went to look on the another box and its said 5715Z, Not just they given me a wrong laptop they also charged me £100 more.

I think when the Tesco staff went to get the Laptop from the storage he or she mange to put the laptop into a wrong box.I haven't taken the laptop back to Tesco yet,i know they will be fine and will give me the one i wanted and paid for.Its just bit annoying because i asked someone else to set it up for me and also i m not good with computers and now i need to save stuff from that laptop to memory stick or something which i don't have. Its all bit frustrating let see what they say when i take the laptop back.

And this evening when i spoke to my friend she said it has happened to her son too and they bought the laptop from the same store as me and they not happy at all.

  • Also beware anyone buying the Acer 4315 for £299 from Tescos it advertises an 80gB hard drive, what you actually get is a partitioned drive with only 32gB available to use.

An hour on the phone to Acer without progress they know of the fault but say 'thats how it is'.

Anyone taken a laptop back to Tesco? Is it going to be hard work? Only bought it on 23/1/08.

Thay only sorted it out when the bloke got in touch with local paper!

Once formatted and XP put on it, not only do you get the full capacity, but you also get a much faster machine!
