MSE meet in Edinburgh, end of August

Welcome to MSE and the Scotland Board

Just trying to finalise the meet and will put up a new thread and poll later tonight. One or two of us have met and some of my friends are members of MSE and can usually be persuaded into attending but the majority have not so don't worry about that and by all means bring someone along.

All it will be is a couple of hours in a bar/coffee shop meeting up and getting to know each other. Last time we met for about 4 hours on a Sunday afternoon in a family pub and it worked well, this time it will be for a few hours in the evening.

Don't worry bealzibub, we're all friendly enough. We don't sit in small groups or anything, and conversation tends to be aimed at the majority more than anything else.

I'm from Sunny Wales, and will be staying in Edinburgh for a few days at the end of Aug, I don't know anybody, and might not understand the lingo either! I'm sure we'll be made welcome, with all the tips and helpfullness on here, I can't think anybody will feel left out-if I do I'll go back to our hotel room!!

I would love to go but as I am having two weeks away from the family (starting Wed) on hol, I don't think I could sell it to them very well.....

I have never met any of the others but I am hoping to go. I do find it a bit daunting but I am sure the effort will be worthwhile!

Thank you to everyone for showing an interest in this Edinburgh meet

As the idea stemmed from Toozie's visit to Edinburgh I am going to plump for a date and venue that suits Toozie and if anyone can't manage, or changes their mind perhaps we can organise another later in the year.

I'm going to start a new thread and poll and close this one meantime, so please note your interest in the new thread
