Depends on the airline - and the airport - so without knowing both it's impossible to say for certain
Typically however full cost airlines allow 56x45x25cm (63l) whereas budget airlines allow 55x40x20cm (44l). Full cost airline may allow more than one bag though not all UK airports allow more than one bag. It's virtually certain that no budget airline allows more than one bag
Luggage exceeding those sizes in ANY dimension - even if it still works out the same volume - will not be able to be used as hand luggage
So my advice - look at the airline website AND the airport website to see what they say0 -
Also double check the info, particularly the one or two bag rule which varies from airport to airport and airline to airline.
False information given by airport or airline does not help when you are at the security desk, even if you have written evidence.0 -
I would defiinately double check as they have changed it lately. It all seems very confusing with some airlines saying you can still only take one bag and others saying you can now take two. Then it can also depend on the airport, some haven't lifted the 1 bag rule.
If in doubt I would just take 1 bag per person, if you've got a handbag make sure that your other bag is big enough to fit it is if asked to.
