Abroadtel via telewest costs (BETTER THAN BT!)

Just called Telewest as to the cost of dialing the 0844 access number (as they only listed 0845. I was interestingly told the following :-

Daytime 6p connection plus 4p/min plus VAT
Evening 6p connection plus 1.5p/min plus VAT
Weekend 6p connection plus 1p/min plus VAT

If this is correct then wow what a saver compared to even 1899 (via telewest access!)

Abroad tel quote 5p/min via BT. Do you think Telewest have slipped up here?

Yes. But they won't slip up when they bill you (beware).

Which AbroadTel 0844 number was it? One is 1ppm at all times, the other 5ppm at all times.

If it was the 5ppm one then I suspect they have slipped up but if you rung them again (chances are you will speak with someone else) and ask them again.

If you look at their tariff charges .pdf file here and specifically on page 4 of 8 under the heading, "UK Non Geographical Calls", it lists prices under the heading "calls not including internet (x)" where x is a number between 1 and 14. Ask them which one it comes under because those prices you quoted do not match any on that tariff sheet (that I could find anyhow).
