Hi,
My current CD-writer is definitely b uggered and so I need a new one.
Can anyone recommend one, to accompany my TSST (Samsung) SH-S182 DVD-re-writer?
I know I can burn CDs in the DVD-writer (which I do), but I would like, as stupid as it sounds, a separate CD-writer.
Thanks.
Just thought: maybe a second DVD-writer would be better, rather than a CD-writer. Can anyone recommend a DVD-writer? Should I buy the same as the one I already have?
Current drives have IDE connections, but motherboard has SATA connections if needed.
If a DVD-writer is best: DVD+/-RW/+/-DL (-RAM?) would be nice along with a headphone socket (not strictly necessary).
Samsung? Toshiba? LG? Pioneer? Lite-On?
Thanks, again.

it doesn't have to be all singing, all dancing, and any particular colour?
Hows'about this one for under £20 inc P&P?0 -
I wanted a cheap DVD rewriter and went for the Liteon, however I had problems with it disliking DVD-RW/+RW, but DVD+R/-R were OK.
I then bought the Samsung SH-S182 and it's been perfect, using the discs the Liteon refused.
So,I'd say double up.
BTW got mine from Play.com for £17.99 delivered, but can't find it on their site.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
it's been replaced by the 202, spud, and at £15.99 inc del, it's a steal0

t's been replaced by the 202,
Cheers for the info, I now know where to point others.
The Liteon was a disappointment, I had a Liteon CD-rw before and that was excellent.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
I have a number of lite-ons and have never had a problem, but then again never had a problem with my samsungs or LGs either, just lucky I guess0
