Lease a car? At that rate?

Angel - try and find someone who can help you shop around a bit....

Not sure on the Zafira - depends on the age, they get problems like most vehicles. Some older Galaxy's have a their probs. If you had the money I would think that a Previa would be a good idea - but they can be costly for a good one. Diesel probably be more efficient. Car market - selling wise - bit dead at the moment, a good time to buy. Selling market will pick up mid Feb.

    Good luck

If you have 3 kids, what about one with plenty of rear space and a decent seat belt in the middle? 5 seats should be enough for mummy and daddy and 3 kids :)

If you *really* need all that space, a minibus would be fun to own and drive. You'd get more for your money, but insurance I assume would cost a bomb. Take for example £350 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-TRANSIT-MINIBUS-LWB-TRANSIT-VAN-LWB_W0QQitemZ290200390165QQihZ019QQcategoryZ108850QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem You could take the kids and some friends around in that :)

I would advise against the Renault MPV's as they tend to develop faults and be expensive to repair. I guess a VW Sharran or the Seat Alhambra would be good choices (AFAIK both are same vehicle, but you'll probably get more for money with the Seat). For example, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/51-Reg-Seat-Alhambra-1-9-PD-TDI-S-6-Speed-7-Seats_W0QQitemZ280171417003QQihZ018QQcategoryZ18270QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

At this time of year you should be able to get the dealer to knock a fair bit off the forecourt price, as a previous poster said, it's downtime just now for car sales.

Do they offer a minimum trade-in or are you buying the car without a trade in?
Also are you buying the car outright or paying some on credit?
Treat others as you would like to be treated :A

Got more details on the car you're looking at? Here's one with only 14k miles 2006, 1.6 xsara picasso, £6,495 buy it now on ebay from a second hand car dealer http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2006-Citroen-Xsara-Picasso_W0QQitemZ150193801048QQihZ005QQcategoryZ18174QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem so £2k less than what you're looking at.

I've burst your bubble and feel a right cow now!!!

Sorry, but see so many 'disasters' on the car front, that don't want anyone to suffer. But on the plus side, you'll be getting a years warranty right? It's only two years old. Offer them 1k less, sound firm, (remember that the car market is constipated) and if they don't take you seriously, turn around and walk out ....

Go on Auto trader and look at other Picasso's with the same spec's and year etc.

I say 1k less, but if you find comparable Picasso 2k less...... do you homework Angelcake and good luck. Remember that there are so many secondhand vehicles out there.........

I'm lucky cos my boss found me a car that I wanted - picked it up at the weekend - delighted, 2.5k on the clock!! Just over a year old and automatic to boot (too lazy to change gear these days) Got all the extras a/c and stuff. Got good deal on trade in, but if hadn't - would've walked away. And its the blue it wanted......:D
