Xbox live :"an error has occurred"

Since he got it for Christmas, my son has been trying to play online with "Kane and Lynch" on xbox360.Every time he gets a message saying
"an error has occured,cannot join gameplay,you are being returned to main menu"
This is the only game he gets the message with.Any ideas anybody please?
Is it a problem with the disc or "live" itself?

This is part of the recent XBox Live problems and has been happening in many games. The reason you get connection failures is because it looks to games where sessions are still there after they have closed.0
