Istanbul- Turkey Advice needed

I have flights booked for easter only for a long weekend

Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay, what to do not to do?

Just me and DH leaving the DS's at home;)

Well, when I went my flight arrived at something like 2 in the morning. So I booked a hotel on Travelocity, choosing one that included a free airport transfer.

However, in the morning (or rather afternoon) I found that it was a bit too far from the main sights. So I just set off for the Sultan Ahmet district. Since I was carrying my bags I was obviously looking for accommodation, and soon a tout invited me to some kind of travel agent. I stated my budget, and soon was shown a beautiful room with a view over the Blue Mosque. I stayed for a week, and had a fabulous time.

I suggest you get a guide book, arrive early and play it by ear. Just be sure to keep your wits about you.
