Now I know witht he £30 that I want to put away each week its going to take me a very long time but I just want t obe able to put it away and think I have it there to fall back on now because its such a low amount what is the best account I could open to save in?

I would open either an ICEsave or ICICI account if I were you. when I'd saved enough to make me feel good, I'd think about starting an ISA - but for information about them, you'd better go to the ISA thread.........0

open an cash ISA as you wont pay any tax on it. most will allow you to pay in when you want.
best to open one with a local branch or if you have a bank a/c then one that you can transfer the money online.
check out the interest rates... read martin's bit about ISAs0
