..glasgow uni (or so i have heard) has the best reputation in scotland but for the subject he wants to do strathclyde has a better reputation he was asking me which to go for (supposing he gets an offer for strathclyde that is) i told him to go to both open days and see which one feels right for him ...
I studied politics at Strathclyde (originally went to study politics and psychology too but changed that for economics) and it was rated as the best department Scotland and one of the best in the UK at the time, they managed to make the subject interesting at least. When I went Strathclyde had a policy of allowing you to do 5 subjects in your first year to see what you really enjoyed, you then specialised from year two onwards, some people I know ended up studying completely different subjects to what they initially thought they would. I loved my time there and chose it because it felt "right" immediately at the open day, didn't feel at all the same about Glasgow Uni, thought it was a little posh for me!
Whatever one he goes for Glasgow is a fantastic city to be a student in.0 -
