Congratulations, El - great news! And thats a classic mix of subjects to study. And Glasgow is a wonderful place, I was there a few years ago for a conference, at the new centre, affectionately called the Armadillo. Brill.

lol mozette if he ever makes it i will be telling him he must have martin as chancellor lol ...whether he likes it or not ..karma the armadillo has great accoustics i have been to a few gigs there ..the good thing about him going to glasgow uni is that if needs must he can move back home atleast ...he also has an application in for strathclyde uni in glasgow..glasgow uni (or so i have heard) has the best reputation in scotland but for the subject he wants to do strathclyde has a better reputation he was asking me which to go for (supposing he gets an offer for strathclyde that is) i told him to go to both open days and see which one feels right for him ...the main thing i want is him to be happy so i'm not bothered about reputations etc just more that he gets the full student experiance...or am i being silly?

Silly? No way - you're wanting his happiness, not just his academic achievement. Thats priceless.
