EGG not allowing positive BT into Bank

I have a positive balance of £3850.00 on my EGG card but they are not allowing me to BT over my credit limit (£1050.00) into my current account.
I have sent them a secure message asking why and am waiting to hear. Is this the end of using EGG as a mule ??

Try doing it in 4 instalments, each one being less than your credit limit, that may be the problem.0

Yes - I did think of that but as I have a credit limit of £1050 with Egg and often move sums of around 20k it is a long fiddley drawn out process. Also this has never been a problem before.0

I've had the same problems lately (and I'm a pre-May 1st cardholder).
For example (and these are made up figures), if you have a credit limit of £10K but your account is actually £1K in "positive" credit, you will still only be able to BT 95% of the £10K - ie £9.5K.
This will leave you with unused available credit of £1.5K
Now, I've not tried the next bit yet - I plan do carry out one of the following options as soon as I've seen my 95% BT has left the card. Here are my options...
1/ BT £1K and leave the £500 (5%) as unused available credit
2/ BT 95% of the £1.5K, eg £1,425, and leave an unused available credit of £75
3/ Attempt to BT the whole £1.5K (downside here is that any fees applied later will push me over my credit limit and result in charges and possible withdrawal of 0%)
4/ BT everything but a token £500 -
Can't you get them to 'repay' the positive balance to you as a cheque?0

Can't remember which thread I read it on but I'm sure someone else pointed out that they could only wthdraw about 95% of their egg balance.
The solution, as I recall, was to send egg a secure message and ask them, as a pre-may 2005 customer, to undo what ever egg had put in place to stop post-may 2005 customers going over their limit once the BT and BT fee had been charged to their account.
I think by doing this, the pre-May 2005 customers were then able to withdraw 100% of their limit.2014 Target;

Just had this reply from EGG:
Dear Smartsaver
We have limit of 95% of your credit limit to stop people going over there limit with any interest or charges. Due to this limit the most you balance transfer at the moment is £4655.00 on-line although you would be able to do more by calling us on 08451 233233.
If we can be any further help please contact us.

EGG can still be our mule ...:D Phew...0 -
My Egg Green is in the 2nd month of its anniversary, so therefore I can no longer us it for doing SBTS. To get round this I applied and now have an Egg Blue to use as a mule. My M&S card is due to be passed through it soon. Since Egg Blue is 0% for Purchases only (which doesn't interest me) and not BTs, I only got it for the purpose of muling the BT, so I'm wondering how I will be able to get the straight 100% through and what will happen to the remaining 5% which will sit there presumably inaccessible? Would it be sent back to M&S?0

Mary - I'd call them on the number above to see what thay say. I think a phone call will allow the full amount to be SBT'd.
At least that is how I have read it.

Although I haven't got the M&S card yet, I would hesitate to ring Egg and ask them about transferring a positive balance on an Egg Blue Card, since blatantly it is a card just for purchases, not transfers! Won't I get a slap round the wrists and told not to do it?0
