Are we close to exchange....help?

Hi all,

We accepted an offer on our flat back in mid november after a previous buyer pulled out. When we accepted an offer from the original buyer we had an offer accepted ourselves on a house shortly after.

We are now at the stage where I think all paperwork is done (we hope!) we have signed contracts for the sale and filled in inventory and questionaires etc. On the purchase side we have just sent back completed and signed contracts, title deeds etc and are about to send back our signed mortgage deed and solicitors form relating to the mortgage/buildings insurance. I am guessing that there is nothing else we need to sign now is that correct? And realistically when should we be hearing about exchanges and moving dates (our buyer has already completed his sale therefore he is very unlikely to pull out now which is good news)?

Have you had your buyer's surveyor round yet?

Yes all surveys were done by the end of november. We've had the results of ours and were sent to solicitor well before Xmas. I haven't seen or heard whether the buyer has received his survey back but assume he has. We live in a new build flat built 2003/2004 so I doubt there will be any problem with it.
