I Need Help Please with a DCBL Letter
Hello,
I have read a few threads that were quite helpful and are somewhat similar to my issue, but don't entirely tick all boxes, hence starting this thread. I would appreciate any help.
I have received a couple of letters from DCBL to recover an unpaid parking charge relating to an overstaying fine issued by Euro Car Parks Limited earlier this year. At the time of the offence, the vehicle was not in my possession and I have contacted DCBL call center to inform them of this - their response was that since DVLA have my details as the owner, I am still liable for the fine.
For some additional context, Euro Car Parks were sending their correspondences to an old address of mine (the address when I did have the vehicle in my possession) and due to this I had no knowledge of the fine in the first place. A couple of months ago, the new keeper of the vehicle has had the V5C document updated and put in their name and at the same time I have also informed DVLA that I no longer own or am in possession of the said vehicle.
I'd like to know if I have any chance of fighting this?
Any help would be massively appreciated.

Yes you do
Use the DCBL app to inform them of the correct address for the service of papers and they must erase the old address
Email the DPO at ECP with the same instruction
Then ignore the powerless debt collectors letters from DCBL
Come back to this thread when DCB LEGAL send you an LoC, or a Money Claim, in the post.
We will assist you with those last 2, meanwhile study the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum
