My Wireless Adaptor Connects To The Router But Not The Internet

Hi folks, hoping someone can help me out here.
In our house, we have a Belkin Wireless Router. Connected to this is my Desktop, my Laptop, my Xbox 360, and my Mum and Dad’s Desktop.
My Desktop and my Xbox 360 are connected using a standard ethernet cable. My Laptop is connected wirelessly with a built-in wireless adaptor, and my M&D’s Desktop is connected using a Belkin Wireless USB Dongle (model number F5D7051).
The day before yesterday, I did a system restore on my M&D’s Desktop as it had been clogged up for the past six months. After that, I downloaded the Dongle’s drivers onto my laptop, transferred them across to my M&D’s Desktop using my memory stick, then installed the Dongle as normal, at which point it found a connection to the router.
So far, so good, and I was able to access the Internet through Internet Explorer. However a few minutes later, the connection was lost. I punched the router’s setup address into the address bar and reset the router, and loaded factory settings, and the Internet started working again – but it lost its connection again.
Now I can’t get anything from it. It shows my M&D’s Desktop as being connected to the router, but I can’t access the Internet, yet my Desktop and Xbox 360 can both access it fine through their wires, as can my laptop (which connects to the router wirelessly with no problems).
Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? I just find it really strange that it had been working fine for six months, then when I reinstalled the Dongle it worked fine but lost its connection, and now it can’t find a connection at all.
Cheers in advance.

"Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."

Check that the encryption key has been entered0

Just check that you have installed the correct drivers for your driver, as there are several versions of the dongle you mentioned (but judging by your inclusion of model number, you already knew that.)
Are you using the provided belkin software for the wireless connection, or xps built in stuff?0 -
drivers don't need drivers. devices need drivers.
anyway try this and post back witht the results
how are the other working pc's connected wireless or wired?
are they using DHCP or static IP addreses?
click start, run, type
cmd
hit enter
type
ipconfig/all
check the DHCP Enabled line yes or no?
repeat this on the non working PC's and see what the results are
IP address should be the same but for the 3 numbers after the last dot
DHCP doesnt really matter if the other items are correct
Subnet mask should be the same on all PC's
Default Gateway should be the same on all PC's
DNS servers should be the same on all PC's
that will see how your network is working.
what type of connection do you have? BT phone line or cable?
why did you reset the router config? if it is a BT type router it will need configureing again if it is a cable one then they usually work out of the box without any security enabeled but you need to reboot the modem/set top box then reboot the router before a connection will happen.0 -
firewall (s) maybe
reinstalling the dongle drivers would have screwed up any permissions that were already set with your firewall, and that could be blocking you connecting to the net"If you really want to hurt your parents and you don't have nerve enough to be homosexual, the least you can do is go into the arts."0
