Tesco Credit Card Online Payments

Every month I pay off the balance on my Tesco Mastercard in full. I pay the minimum payment by direct debit & the remaining balance online with my LTSB debit card.
Last night just after midnight I tried to make the online payment but when I got to the end of the procedure & pressed 'confirm' all I got was a notice about online maintenance & asking me to come back in one hour. This ''one hour'' thing is a complete joke as it generally means that the system will be down all night.
Today I have tried four times to make the payment but when I press 'confirm' all I get is ''System Error 130''. I realised that I couldn't make a postal payment in time for the due date of 11th January so I phoned customer services. I never actually got to speak to them as I ended up making an automated debit card payment over the phone. I have applied to amend my direct debit to pay the full balance in future months.
Has anyone else had problems with Tesco's online payment system which of course is run by the Royal Bank of Scotland in Southend.

All systems have to go down accasionally for maintenence. It was inconvienient for you but unfortunatly just 'one of those things'

Yes, I realise that systems have to go down for maintenance every so often. The exasperating thing is that when a site that is working fine goes down for maintenance during the night, it should be fully operational again the following morning & not subject to an error that wasn't there before the ''maintenance''.
I needed to let off steam earlier today!0 -
lol, I know what you mean about letting off steam! They do tend to do maintenence in the night though, the banks, & you were doing this just after midnight.

Why not use 'Transfers and payments' from LTSB online banking to do the payment? instead of trying to pay using your debit card.0

As I have already mentioned I have decided to have the full monthly balance paid by direct debit rather than have just the minimum taken & the rest paid by debit card via the Tesco website.
I do use the LTSB online payment system for another credit card & it is very good. I just thought that it would be easier to use one website rather than two for the payment. My LTSB debit card details are already in the Tesco system so it should in theory be the easist option when making a payment.0 -
You mentioned that the minimum was paid by direct debit with the rest paid via your debit card.
This was not what you first posted.0
