When you made an offer of payment to a debt collector/debt buyer, in the past, they would not question it a great deal, and that would be that.

These days they have to comply with affordability criteria, and to that end, they all have their own version income/expenditure forms they request you fill out.

Now of course you are under no obligation to do that, but that is kind of a double edged sword, as until you do, they will keep your account open to collection activity, and your account will be marked as "no agreement in place".

So for the sake of ten minutes work, it makes sense to transfer your figures, to there paperwork, if only to get them off your back.

That was going to be my next question, how will my accounts be treated with no signed SoA in place.

I guess, as you say, for the sake of 10 minutes work (and my future sanity), I'll fill it out and get it sent to them.

Its done then, for 6 months at least anyway.

They have no right to verify anything you tell them. This isn't an IVA.

If you have any doubts, you might share here. There may be things you've failed to account for? There may be specific reasons some costs are higher, like "locked in contract". Or you may not want them to know you smoke, so add a bit to medical and dental(!) or boost travel costs.

And just sum your other debts, and tell them what you expect to pay towards them. Chapter and verse not required.

And no need to tell them if you've (hopefully) got savings.

If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

Just another thought, if you want to add a signature then do one that is nothing like your normal signature then if it ever bounced back you would know where it came from.

If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.
