CCTV quote

Hey All,

I've had a few quotes for CCTV and I'm being quoted £2k for 5 hikvision cameras. I was wondering if that's fair or too expensive.

This is the actual quote

5 bases

8 Chanel nvr

4 tb hdd

Cable

2 way hdmi splitter

10 m hdmi

USB mouse extension

Labour & parts 3 years warranty

£2050

He has said he'd charge £40 call outs if needed.

Any help is appreciated

How much is it to just buy the kit?

Is the quote concealing cabling under floorboards etc?

Probably more relevant whether the spec is appropriate for your needs.

A 4TB surveillance-quality disk is probably in the region of £200 at the minute. For a 5-camera system that may give you a generous period of time before overwriting. Do you need that, or would a couple of days storage be enough? Do you need high quality video?

Not sure of the prices for the exact camera model, but similar seem to be around the £200 mark each. Do you need (all) the cameras to be that spec? Is night vision important, can you use a lower-spec camera with separate supplementary IR illumination?
