22 Orchid gift bags @ 32p
20 Face masks @ 66p
Bergamot Gift set @ £5.59
Almond gift set @ £5.59
Total to pay £31.42
Points received 300 ( from £30 total spend voucher)
Offer points 5400 including 1000 points when spending £30 on specific items that was sent in a Boots mailing.
I didn't think the till would accept 3 different vouchers so it was a nice surprise when it did. :j
So, in addition to the 23 gift bags you bought from the other store...don't you think you're being a bit greedy???0 -
i really messed up my first boots shop today. i'm having a baby in 2 weeks so i had my cotton-wool brain in today, also shouldn't shop on an empty stomach. i got a lift to town off my sister but totally forgot to ask to borrow her advantage card (she gets better offers than me). then i bought 'she' and it didn't have the holiday buys booklet in so no £2 off in boots, also the 50p off reveal voucher has already expired. i got grumpy about that, went into boots to find the advantage machine not giving me anything on a total spend, also no boots magazines so no extra discount off the intuition razors.
i found 3 med bags and 8 face masks (they said reduced to £1.66 on the shelf but came up at 66p each on the till). nothing else under £1.00. there were only 4 packs of razors with the voucher on, plenty without the voucher. anyway, i bought the 4 razors, the bags and face masks and had to buy a bit extra to make it up to the £25 because you have to actually spend £25 to get the £5 voucher. i got a £1.99 med lip blam and a 20p reduced creme egg. then when i paid for my goods costing £25.19 i used the £5 gift voucher i'd been given last week towards it, and didn't get another one! the sour faced till assistant said it was because i hadn't spent £25, i'd only physically paid £20.19 - blunder!!
so on a £25.19 spend and the £3 i spent on 'she' i got £12 to spend in asda (4x £3 vouchers on the razors) and 1249 points, that means i actually spent £3.70 more than i got back  that's not boots tarting the MSE'ers way :rotfl: although i will actually use the things i bought, the razors look okay and the orchid bags are good, the face masks went into the box of random gifts i keep in my bedroom so i always have a birthday present to hand - do you think 2 different face masks in an orchid bag is a suitable gift for the teachers for end of term, or should i use last years natural collection bath stuff insted? i think bath stuff is more acceptable really ... ho hum ...
don't make the same mistakes i did - the 'she' mag doesn't always have the £2 off voucher, the total spend coupons come and go so always take other people's advantage cards to see if they get a better offer than you, and don't use the £5 voucher when paying for a £25 order - you have to actually spend £25 in order to get another £5 gift voucher.52% tight0 -
Oh dear jellyhead - I think we will have to put you forward for retraining! Thats the trouble with Boots with so many good offers to mix and match to maximise the best deal sometimes you mix and match the wrong way and you've shot yourself in the foot.0

after brekkie at mcd's (paid for with pinecone luncheon vouchers) i went back for another shop, armed with the 10% off voucher i'd found in the 'she' mag. i did a £25.15 baby shop (£25.15 after the 10%) of reduced clothing and 2 economy packs of huggies carrying an extra 200 points for two and at £16 for two. so i got 743 points for that and a £5 voucher. i thought i'd better spend the voucher that day because it expires on wed or thurs, so i went to look in the natural collection, thought i'd treat my son to some fishy bath bombs and i found another 9 orchid bags in with the natural collection bags - bargain :-) i spent 25p over the gift voucher and got 900 points. in total for the 3 shops including the 'she' mag and 90p to get home on the bus i spent £49.49, got £12 to spend at tesco, 2892 points so a total spend of less than £8 for loads of things i needed and some that are just nice to have
and no, i don't think i was greedy, the till assistants told me recently that i'm their only customer who reads this site, the only one who takes advantage in such a cheeky way. i don't think anyone else is losing out.52% tight0 -

lol! i didn't do too badly over the three shops i did, and at least it's all things i'll use and i would have bought most of it anyway - not like toe separators (not that i ever got any, the till assistants bought them all lol!). i thought it worth mentioning about the £5 voucher though, i wouldn't want anyone else to lose out on getting an extra voucher in the way i did.52% tight0 -
Have just got back from a v. successful trip to Boots - in profit!!! :j
I got my 100 bonus points voucher for the mediteranian range from the machine and went looking for bargains. I noticed a pile of gift bags on the stand, but they had no price on the shelf and also no mention of 'Mediteranian' on the bag, so I took one to a till and asked the man to check the price. It came up at 49p, so I asked him if he would try the voucher with it and when it went through the till, the price came down to 32p and I got the 100 bonus points.
As I now knew I had the right thing, I went back and bought another 21 of them (seems a bit mad I know!) which came to £6.72, but I also used my 10% voucher so it came down to £6.05. I then paid using my £5 voucher from the £25 spend offer, so I paid £1.05.
When I checked my receipt, I had been credited with 2100 points - worth £21!!
The bags you are looking for have pink, white, green and black stripes and a large white flower (orchid) on them and have a gift tag and pink tissue paper and silver sticker in a little cellophane bag attached to it. 'ORCHID Gift Bag' is written near the bar code, but there is nothing saying Mediteranian anywhere.
They would make good party bags for girls - shame I've got three boys!!!0 -
Pleased to hear you redeemed yourself! And I do agree with you - it isn't being greedy - it being MSE - I'm glad sparky got major points - she always shares her finds - so we can all benefit.
Well jellyhead, I think you deserve to put your feet up now. I'm off to Boots now, hoping to get some BS foot lotion and gift bags if left. They are well worth 32p even without the bonus points.0 -
woohoo jap! excellent shop :-)
i couldn't find a pic of the bag online but could ask my husband to scan one in if anyone wants to see what it looks like. it doesn't say mediterranean on it anywhere! the sticker on the base says boots, orchid gift bag. item code 4806395. it's a lovely bag, especially with the tissue and little sticker, it has a pink tag for writing on and pink rope handles. there's a large white flower on one side, with a smaller black one on top left, the other side is just stripey.
at 32p with points back these are much better than the toe separators of bygone days, they will always get used even if you save them for birthdays, mothers day next year, etc. and i'll probably use mine at xmas too, i have 12 of them
i hope you have a good shop rockingham :-)52% tight0 -
ROCKINGHAM wrote:I used that voucher 3 times against the Time Delay Wipes - it was only on the last occasion did she swipe it and said it not taking it and handed it back to me. However on my receipt it showed 300pts added. So if you can get a cashier to at least swipe - your points should be added.
And you only tell us about it now???!!! :eek:I didn't dare use it with the TD wipes, now I wish I had...
