Hey all

A couple of changes for me personally (recently)

  • In late June I ended up needing to attend the urgent care service (as directed by 101). This was due to quite severe edema that wasn't going away and other symptoms. Anyhow I was given antibiotics by the duty nurse, and told on the night to get an urgent appt with my GP asap. She diagnosed it as a common side effect of my hypertension treatment (I had been on it for years with no discernible side effects). I moved to new hypertension treatment, but basically it's still not working as effectively as the original one. My home measured BP was hitting 170/115, so that is an ongoing unresolved issue. I have now been booked in for a phone appt with the GP next week. My BP has a significant, elevated risk I would say.
  • I recently had an annual check up thing at the GP where they did bloods, and after that they identified a spike in 'risky' cholesterol, and I have been placed on a daily statin.

Do either or both of these need to be reported as CoC? It won't change any of my current benefits, which is why I've not reported anything. I am contemplating a PIP application however, so this would be included in a PIP application. I was assuming only tangible medical changes that would impact the claim needed to be reported. However being diagnosed with high cholesterol especially is completely new, and it might seem odd to include a condition for PIP when it didn't exist for prevailing claims.

there is no need to report changes that will not effect your award. If you might get more or less financial support is when it needs reporting.
