Capital One Direct Debit

So I checked my DDs this morning (NatWest) and my Capital One DD is showing as cancelled (I did not cancel it and no payments have ever failed from it.) DD still showing as in place on the Capital One app.

I have a vague recollection a few months ago of them saying you might see two DDs from us but only one would claim payment, but can’t now find that email to check if any timescales were given. Has anyone else had this this month, or has the text of the email so I can be sure I haven’t imagined it? NatWest don’t display new mandates until they have been used to collect a successful payment, so it creates concern that November’s DD won’t be taken and I’ll end up with a late mark and fee through no fault of my own.

The reason I’m concerned is that I had to call them yesterday (using the number on the back of my card) due to a legitimate transaction being declined. At one point I had to give the last 4 digits of my bank account for security, but at no point did I ask for the DD to be cancelled. I actually ended up calling them three times due to the transaction failing again when they’d said it would now go through, only to be cut off after being placed on hold for a different department for about 15 minutes - so I really don’t want to call them again if I can help it. Not a pleasant experience after having no issues for many years.

What date is the November DD due to be taken and what is the CC payment date?

Enough time between the two to pay the card manually if the DD were to fail/not exist?
