Best rewards credit card rates
Hi all,
I have a balance transfer credit card and 2 other normal everyday spending credit cards. Im thinking of applying for a rewards card but was wondering what would be a good rate to get on the rewards card if I'm accepted and would it help or hinder my application if I closed either of the everyday spending cards or paid off the balances transfer card?
I know that it's not the be all and end all of everything but thought it was worth noting that I do have a reasonable credit score
Kind regards mark

Some reward cards are time limited so you need to weigh the deal up yourself or rather ..keep getting new cards with good temporary deals .
I just stick with a old half a percent card as cant be bothered with it all but if you spend loads then its worth while .

When you say 'rate' do you mean interest or cashback?

Sorry I meant the cashback rate?

For general spending on everything, you'd be doing well to find better than half per cent or so, or maybe an offer slightly better for the first few months
Some banks seem to be increasing use of credit and debit card cashback deals with various selected retailers, some almost permanent, some from time to time. You might do searches for cashback rewards with bank name. I think Barclaycard and NatWest have things like this, but I can't quite see the details. With Halifax and Lloyds this has even included several supermarkets 3 or 4 times a year each, with up to 8 or 10 per cent aggregate in a month or 15 per cent on single transaction, £10 to £30 cap. Morrisons and Waitrose there at the moment, Sainsbury's and Tesco recently
