Parkmaven Fine

Hi all,

Recently parked my van and paid accordingly, needed extra time so paid an additional hour.

However, I paid the for the following day, not for the actual day, obvious fault by myself.

Now this is a works vehicle and they have appealed on my behalf but I wanted to take the charge and appeal it myself so I can put my company out of the loop and directly to me.

They have denied my appeal (course they have) but I want to sign it over to me and believe I cannot do this now which is annoying.

Anyone aware if I can indeed get this signed to me or is it too late?

POPLA is the next route, which I can go.

See below

Many thanks for any pointers.

Thank you for your appeal against the above Parking Charge Notice.
We acknowledge your explanation that you purchased parking at Shop Stop Shopping Centre, Clapham Junction, on
01/10/2026, under booking reference XXXXX, covering the period from 06:56 to 12:00.
We also appreciate the supporting evidence you have provided showing that you purchased an additional hour of parking
under booking reference XXXXX. We understand that you intended to extend your parking session until 13:00 on
01/10/2026 but inadvertently selected 02/10/2026 when completing the additional booking.
While we acknowledge that this was a genuine administrative error and that payment was made for the correct vehicle
registration and location, please be advised that motorists are responsible for ensuring that their parking bookings are
made for the correct date and time.
Parking sessions are valid only for the dates and times selected at the point of purchase. Unfortunately, a booking
purchased for 02/10/2026 cannot be applied retrospectively to a parking session on 01/10/2026.
Although your additional booking was paid for and you have advised that it was not used, this does not alter the fact that
your original parking session expired at 12:00 on 01/10/2026, while your vehicle remained within the car park until
approximately 12:57.
Having carefully considered your explanation and the supporting evidence provided, we regret to inform you that your
appeal has been declined.
Nevertheless, taking into consideration that you made a genuine attempt to extend your parking session, paid for the
additional hour and selected the incorrect date unintentionally, we are prepared to reduce the Parking Charge to £25.00
as a gesture of goodwill.
This reduced amount will remain available for 14 days from the date of this response. If payment is not received within
this period, the offer will expire and the Parking Charge will revert to the applicable outstanding balance.
For future visits, please ensure that you carefully review the vehicle registration, parking location, date and time

Definitely wasn't a fine, its an invoice from a private parking company

Study the advice given at the bottom of the first post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum

If its a company vehicle then they can appeal as keeper, they can also name the hirer. ( you. )

I believe that you would lose at POPLA if you use your what happened story above

Then the keeper can name the hirer at any point up until a Money Claim is issued

Yep. The company names you and gives your address. No idea why they didn't do that earlier!

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

taking into consideration that you made a genuine attempt to extend your parking session, paid for the
additional hour and selected the incorrect date unintentionally

That's some serious undermining of their own claim 🤦

Parkmaven use DCB Legal and discontinue 99.9% of court claims. Although I've had success arguing with DCB - so much so that they never proceeded to a claim.
