Didn't want to clutter up the place over on the advents board, but what's the reason for social media posts being put in one post?

I don't like the "app" and "social media" index threads on advents - I think they are unneccesary.
If they have to be there, it should be made very clear that the comps themselves should be posted on the advent board and NOT in these index threads (this is clearly specified in the "over £100" thread). A post in these index threads should link to the comp thread on the advents board, not to a third party site.
These two threads should BOTH be announcements, or NEITHER should be announcements. I might be wrong, but I vaguely remember that a board has a limit of 3 announcements, so if one them can't be made an announcement then neither of them should be.

I didn't even notice the app announcement thread. I think my eyes tend to skim over announcement threads because they rarely change.
I thought we had a whole board to post advents for this very reason; that we can "clutter" up a separate board and people who wish to avoid them can do so. Grouping certain competitions in one or two threads seems pointless and more difficult to keep track of. So I completely agree with you @One-Eye that these should link to individual comp threads.

As each post states it is just to collate the certain posts from the Advent section, you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to.
as there is a post in there to an App Only competition you will notice that the comment in the app only section links directly to the app only competition that is posted in the main advent board.Posting is a privilege, not a right. Is there a definitive guide to how the Advents are to be posted?
Are they being separated from the main board? Are they going to be posted in one place or on multiple boards?
The links would also be helpful.
I apologise for asking; I get easily confused.
Thank you.

There is already a fb post posted under the social announcement, but hasn't been posted on to the main advent thread, i'm confused already 😣When posting app or social media advents do we now have to post them on both threads, or just the app/social boards and leave the main advent thread for web based only?

I'd rather they were all on the one thread and if anyone doesn't want to enter FB etc then just red cross them.
It's worked ok the last few years so personally don't see the need for more threads
