Hi,
I have recieved a quote to fit an outside tap and the quote goes like this:
To isolate cold water supply and remove washing machine
Drill through wall at rear of washing machine in the corner and fit new brass plate tail piece through the wall. Pipe in new tail piece into existing cold water main with appropriate isolation valve. Terminate tail piece externally with garden hose tap above the grid position.
Turn on and test. Refit washing machine. Remove all rubbish from site.
Estimate:- £ 79.92 + VAT
just wondering if this is a good quote or a I don't really want this job quote?
Cheer for any help!!

If you have a problem fix it, if you can't fix it don't worry because it will happen anyway!

out side tap, with any quote break it down into materials , labour time.
and think about call out charge,
most plumbing companys would propably charge,
it does seem a fair price, also take into account nobody likes small jobs.
all the best.0 -
You can buy a tap fixing kit in B&Q - comes with the tap, instructions and its easy to do. Only thing not included when I did it was PTFE tape.
Now I'm a woman and not that handy but I can work a drill - it took about 20 minutes in total. Mind you before I could do it I had to pay a plumber to come and fit a new stopcock as it was totally jammed! The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
That's a good price.

KathrynPenguin I have looked at those B&Q kits but was told the ones that self tap into the water pipe can not make a big enough hole so you get a reduced water pressure at the tap with these, but thank you and all the others that have replied much appreciated. :beer:If you have a problem fix it, if you can't fix it don't worry because it will happen anyway!0
