Morning, thanks Gers.
I'm sorry to see that your Dh 's mum is so very ill Ruby..
It seems to have calmed down a bit here, yesterday the wind was tremendous, it was dry and sunny though.
Today I'm taking dgd to a nearby shopping centre to buy stuff for the Hallow'een party they are having next weekend. While I'm there I might have a quick look in the big Sains there. That'll be this afternoon, this morning I'm visiting my old friend up the road, she was 92 yesterday!I
Thoughts to the poorly and those with poorly relatives.
Take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope you enjoyed the show.
It's very calm outside after the last couple of days. The rain wasn't too bad yesterday but the wind was very scary. Apart from going to the bin and getting coal in I didn't go out - got a bit stir crazy by the afternoon so did lots of housework!
Sending you hugs Ruby.
I'm off to work this morning, will leave a little earlier in case the roads are still bad. No doubt the school roof will have leaked so will have to deal with that when I get in.
Take care. XX

My bus journey down to Glasgow was surprisingly smooth given the conditions. All fallen trees removed and the worryingly huge flood water which caused a nightmare diversion, all pumped away. The coach was almost empty as were the roads. We arrived in an unheard of 10 minutes early. What a relief.
I nipped into JL, which is exactly opposite the bus station, to collect the two new bras and some more teaspoons I'd ordered online. Once checked in I had time for a quick snack.
Chris Ramsay was brilliant. He's such a natural wit. His stories about his life were so funny, especially when telling of the weird and terrible behaviour of some of his fellow guests on talk shows. How he and his wife moved up in the world, felt out of place and returned to their home town was a real highlight. I'm so glad that I made it.
This morning I have my COVID vaccination a short bus ride away and then I'll be mooching around the shops, or maybe going to the cinema. Tonight I'm going to see Dr Richard Shepherd's show about forensics
The storm has left some awful debris behind. The next village up from my has no power and won't have until Thursday whilst half of Inveraray is off. I hope that everyone is safe, dry and warm. I'm thinking about those with worries and pain xx

Morning
Sorry to hear about all those with worries, illnesses and weather-related issues.
The craft fair started off better, then the WiFi went again (no card machines) then early afternoon the power went off so it was abandoned. Tbh I wasn’t sorry to get home in the light and unpack the van.
Today will be helping DM - she thinks her bruises etc are better enough to have a bath etc.
take care all

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers I’m pleased you made it to Glasgow and enjoyed the show. Hope tonight’s is just as good x
Sorry to read of @RedRuby1231 ’s MIL - sending love to you all x
Annoying about the craft fair @AlwaysAllie 🙁
Garden was tidied of leaves yesterday but it’s like painting the Forth Bridge - it looked good for a short while. DH attached the wardrobe doors and made up one of the bedside tables. Slowly getting there.
I’m volunteering his afternoon. Heard on Friday that I didn’t get the role I interviewed for. Probably for the best as it would have meant a 40min each way drive, 3 times a week and given the cost of fuel…for a minimum wage job… I have a couple of DDad-free days as DSis is taking out today and tomorrow, so may start painting the landing ceiling which was plastered a few weeks ago. Dinner is tuna pasta bake.Have a good day all

I will pop to the library this afternoon it doesn’t open until 1 hubby will walk the little dog I’m not meeting my friend she’s on holiday for a week she was dreading the flight in the winds but she went at 6 this morning I think it will have settled down for her . AA how annoying about the craft fair but I bet you were pleased to be back home . Gers I like Chris and rosy Ramsey there was a bus trip from here up to Edinburgh apparently a good time was had by everyone even though the weather was horrendous. Coxy fuel is definitely something you have to think about now it’s so expensive to run a car . Hugs to Ruby . Gammon and something for tonight I will have a think soon we won’t starve . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning all
Thank you all for the kind thoughts, just after I finished posting yesterday we got a call from the hospital asking us to come quickly, OH and I rushed over, his dad did not feel able to come as he was too upset and OH’s sister did not even try to come down 😡 she lives about 3 hours away.
I didn’t want OH to go through it alone so I went with him, when we got there the Dr told us that the machines were breathing for her and that they thought that this was the end so what did we want to do, OH and I discussed it and decided that the kindest thing was to let her go, they removed all of the machines and moved us to a side room, we sat with her for two hours as her breathing got more and more shallow, we held her hands and told her we loved her and I told her it was ok to go and that I would look after OH, she slipped away two hours later very peacefully, the Drs and nurses were brilliant and so kind to us and treated MIL with huge respect even after she passed.
It was a very hard day especially for OH, I will start making some calls today.
Rest in Peace Sue you were loved xx

How awful for your OH and the family. And how brave and kind to have the strength to make such a good decision. My thoughts and love are beaming out to you. 💕
