Moorside Legal LOC
Hi there
I would like some advice on what to do if anyone can help me. I’ve read the newbies page and a few other topics on this but can’t find my answer( so apologies if this new post is a somewhat duplicate.
I’ve had a letter of claim from Moorside Legal. I haven’t a clue where it’s from or from when but they are asking for £170
I’ve tried to email them with their “help@“ and also “litigation@“ but both bounce back with a portal sign in rather than an acknowledgment that they have received it putting it on hold.
Is this a genuine LOC and if so, how do I play this because I feel all I can do is wait for a court case date.
Thanks

Yes its real, Moorside Legal on behalf of Anchor, although you may know them as Ocean Parking or Care Parking or similar
Use the portal to copy and paste the LoC response template to Moorside, but dont give them anything else, no financial forms etc
You wont get a court date next, you would receive an N1SDT Money Claim pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL
Any court date is probably 6 to 12 months away, so 2027

If you don't know anything about this pcn, better check your V5C it might have an old address on it where pcn letters were sent.

That was the main thing what I forgot to say… I can’t log into the portal that they give when they responded to when I sent to them other emails
Any ideas?1 -
What happens when you try to log in?

Its often a post code / name issue or something not quite right.

Then you aren't matching the data on the LBC
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The name is addressed to the full company name so it could be “surname” but neither the company names middle and last don’t work nor do my actual surname….

99.9% of the time you cant register company accounts on the portal. Sometimes does work if ltd at the end.
But most times it does not
I would name the driver to the parking firm around day 30 using the company address as the address for service ( as allowed under POFA/CPR ) and email the driver details only to the parking firm.(not moorside)
Liability is then extinguished. You then defend the claim solely on no keeper liability
Highly effective. Did this in a multi driver multiple ticket case for over 6k recently. Bingo it worked a treat
I think this is something that should be done a lot more in the right circumstances as its works so well and its a complete defence in law. All legal firms in the parking industry accept the ability to name drivers up until proceedings are issued.

Thanks for that it sounds great advice
So I email Anchor Security service and actually tell them my full name but to not name who was driving?
