Save some money for things to make the house look & feel like home, some people find it hard to adjust (I did major stylee) put some $$$ by for some frames, a radio / tv for the bedroom. As for cheap stuff start looking round car boots
Money, Money, Money ..... Banks/Casinos/Bookies give me all you money its a poor mans world....

    Another vote for Freecycle
I have donated a 3 pce suite and a dining table and chairs, both with plenty of good years in them.
It avoids excess landfill, and you can pick up some great deals

  • I am also a keen freecycler - however many groups now request that you offer something first before putting in a wanted item. Nothing to stop you replying to an offered item although you have to be quick. I personally have given away anything and everything from a double buggy, to black ash stereo unit to boxes of unplayed with toys. Just a note of caution - one ex-freecycler told me that she "found" her conservatory suit for sale at a car boot sale. The person who had "taken" it (and what a sob story she had given!!!) looked very embarrassed indeed. If you don't want something to end up on ebay/car boot sale then best state so on the offered add. Greedy people have a habbit of spoiling things for everyone - those who want to give (and in doing so prevent landfil) and those who genuinely deserve a helping hand.

    Thanks guys.

I have done many trips to Ikea and have some stuff from there. I did sign up to Freecycle, but It wont let me log in anymore which is frustrating !

Thanks Again, I will let you know how I get on.

    Love,

  • for cheap plates, mugs, cutlery, tupperware dishes etc you can't go wrong with the poundshop

it may not last as long as more expensive shops - but will definately get you started for as little cost as possible

Agree with the comments above - Ikea is really good, go up there and spend about £100 and you'll have a whole trolley load, get all your plates, cutlery, kitchenware etc...

Also definitely have a go at Freecycle, there's often plenty of stuff on there - have been giving away loads of stuff on there recently from armchairs to printers, to spare turf from doing my garden last summer! People often have a clearout of old cutlery and crockery and offer it on there, so keep your eyes peeled!

Good luck with the new home, it's a nice feeling when you first walk in that door!
