Dealer contribution & extended warranty on Car HP finance

Hi

I am about to buy a used car from a main dealer. They are offering £500 dealer contribution & 2 year extended warranty if I take finance . I have the money but am considering taking HP finance to get the dealer contribution /warranty. My question is if I take finance & then cancel it within the 14 day cooling off period will I loose these benfits?

I don't think you would lose the benefits but others will know better. I think it's just a case of ensuring that any early settlement fee outweighs the savings you receive - I think previous threads have claimed it does work in the buyer's favour.

Meanwhile I've shifted this into the Motoring forum rather than in the more restricted Reclaim finances that gets less traffic.

If you cancel the finance you will lose anything that was given as a part of it, cancelling within the cooling off period it is as if the finance never existed.

If you settle the finance right after the 14 days you will keep everything, but be charged interest (90 days IIRC).

If that is less than £500, winner!
