Pension credit decision times
hello, just wondered if anyone knows how long decisions are taking regards pension credit. I phoned to see how my application made in August was doing and was told they have it (got email when submitted too saying I would know by 19 October) but it has not been looked at yet.
She said they could not give any indication of timescale - was really hoping it is soon as have child and cant get free school dinners etc for him which would really help.
Thank you

My recent decision, in July, took less than 3 weeks.

it varies hugely. I had to wait 13 months before I heard from them 🙀. They phoned me for more information and when I said I’d been waiting for over a year they apologised but didn’t know why it took so long. 2 days later 13 months money appeared in my bank account
note: I believe this sort of wait is very unusual2 -
For original award from date of claim it was four months in my instance from claim to back payment received.
