Ignored appeal and increased fine?

hello,

so I had a parking ticket issued to myself for £60 last month as to which I appealed as I was well within the timeframe (I sent it 11 days after incident occurred and Civil Enforcement state it’s 29 day window) I even have email receipt from the company saying thanks for the appeal with an appeal reference number (the same reference number that links to the initial fine may I state as well so it’s all clearly organised into one fine/appeal)

now I haven’t heard back in a while and just received another letter with an increased price to £100 to pay ??? However on their website and on their codes of conduct they state the payment will be frozen until a response has been sent about the appeal but I have heard nothing back except from today when receiving the increased fine. Now they have all my information as they have been sending letters to my correct address and they even have my email as I received a receipt for my online appeal.

should I have to pay the increased price when I was waiting for a response and got absolutely nothing from them. The fact is I would have paid the initial £60 fine if the appeal was rejected that’s fair I appealed in the hopes they would cancel it due to other outlying factors I believed could help the case but I understood if it was to be denied that I will pay the initial amount .

I just don’t see why i should pay an increase amount when I was promised it would stay frozen until a verdict was made.

any help would be great as I can’t contact them at all, the ‘appeal’ button on the website now says it’s past the date for appeal but my email receipt about the appeal shows that I have appealed well within the timeframe AND the appeal policy number is the same as the original fine policy so it’s all the same appeal.

im just a bit lost as to why they’ve ignored it and now asking for increased price

It doesn't matter. You won't be paying, so the mug's discount is irrelevant.

Why did they ignore you? Because you're seriously considering paying £100 now!

Google 'Civil Enforcement Email' and email them all to complain that your appeal has not been replied to.

They'll refuse your 'appeal' anyway, but then you can look at next steps (none of which involve paying anything).

    P.S. it's not a fine.

There was no fine, just a £100 invoice from CEL

It didn't increase, it was always £100, but was reduced to £60 as an early settlement figure ! An offer !

Put a complaint in to CEL with a copy of your original appeal and demand a decision back, with either a popla code or a cancellation by return

The complaint link is on the BPA website in the BPA AOS members list

As above there is no "fine" why did you think that?

You are dealing with private parking scammers not an authority, they thrive on greed and obfuscation, they do not manage car parks they manage their bank account.

The above advice should be followed.

I have had to contact them through the make a complaint section on their site as it doesn’t allow me to appeal further the option is greyed out with a message saying the timeframe has been passed but yet I have already appealed and have a reference number from them and an email to say so .

if the initial appeal was rejected I would have settled the initial payment of £60 but I don’t want to be paying them the increased amount for an error on their behalf by not communicating the result of the appeal. Yet they have access to my details as I’m receiving further instructions about the increased cost.

Ive gone one above and contacted the property that I parked on they had their own contact page so I’m hoping they have a way to liaise with them as I’ve no way of getting in touch and they clearly don’t listen to the appeals .

(Google search and hundreds of one star negative reviews with people in the same boat saying they don’t actually look at the appeals they ignore and just ask for more money)

    update:

I went past the civil enforcement team to the parking lot directly and told them they’ve not communicated with me and got the whole thing cancelled so they definitely got scared I told on them to the big bosses and dropped everything

it sometimes does pay to not give in to these people !
