Bodge job done by solar panel company - need advice
About 3 years ago I had solar panels fitted.
The company fitting did a bodge job - one of the roof tiles wasn't put back properly.
1 year ago, this tile came loose and slid down.
They sent someone to fit back - the problem is, the tile is the top tile - you can't just slot in.
What you need to do is take off the solar panels and then take off every single tile and insert one at a time.
What they did instead was put roof sealer or something. The contractors said this was OK for the time being - but not a long term fix.
I have been emailing the company - but it keeps on bouncing or I just don't get a reply.
I paid on my credit card!
I've tried to keep the description as brief as possible.
Looking for advice what to do.
Thanks.

Is the company still in business? Have you checked?
Two routes spring to mind if the company's gone bust or simply won't reply. One is your credit card provider - I assume the value of the installation is less than £30k? The other is your home insurer, especially if you have legal cover.

Home insurance not an option.
The cost of installation was about £7500.
Business still trading - though they have stopped doing consumer and only do work for businesses.
Should I try to contact them a few more times before pursuing the credit card route?
ALSO: what if I don't have the credit card anymore? What do I do then?

I believe the credit card could still be able to help you
Do you still have your credit card company account details, call them up as you have nothing to lose.

If taking this up via your credit card company, they'll need evidence of all that in order to support a claim of breach of contract, i.e. they won't just take your word for it that the roof is in an unacceptable condition and you'll also need to quantify the cost of getting it fixed, so it'll be worth looking around for other companies who can help on both fronts…

Thanks guys for the replies really helpful. I've got a full trail of everything. I've got messages of the work done. I've got messages sent after the fix was done - with photos sent. I've got a trail of all the communications I've tried sending and not getting a reply. I need to correct myself. I do actually have the credit card still left - just haven't used for years - but still live as far as I know.
I'll call up the company today and give them one last chance to fix.
