Car insurance renewal
We're always advised to get a new quote 26 days before our current car insurance expires but how can I compare prices if I haven't had the renewal through from my insurance company and probably won't for another week or so? Mine is set to expire on 19th November.

My renewal notices arrive pretty much 4 weeks before expiry.
Maybe contact your insurers and ask for the number/get the notice production expedited?

My company only e-mail renewal 21 days prior .

Just wait until they give you a price then? 26 days is just a guide, its not set in stone.

Most of the time the quotes you obtain are valid for a period of time, sometimes up to a month ahead,. When your renewal comes through you can compare that to the quotes you've already obtained and pick which one to go with.

Give them a phone call.

It doesn't matter. You can still use comparison sites to get prices to compare when it does come through

Problem is that many quotes from comparison sites have a much shorter lifespan than they used to, some are only valid if accepted that day. So you can get what looks like a good price today from someone offering same day only quotes and you have to make a choice on if to accept it without knowing what your renewal price would be or take a punt that it wont be higher the next time you run the quote after getting your renewal price

Ok pal - did you ask them when it will be ready?
