Help - Monitor & Graphics Card Compatibility

Hey

I'm looking a purchasing a monitor for a computer i am getting built:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2048mb DDR2 667Mhz 320GB SATAII nVidia 8600GT 512MB PCI-E Grahpics DVDRW

I am looking a purchasing this monitor:

Black
5ms Response Time
1440x900 Resolution
2000:1 Contrast Ratio
View Angle:160x160
Brightness: 300cd/m2
Analog Input Signal

One user states that a downside is it doesnt support DVI input which I think this graphic card has...is this going to make much difference? Are there adapters out there for this?

The computer is costing £477 - comment welcome! :)

Personally I'd go for a monitor with DVI input, especially with a decent PC like that, assuming the video card has a DVI out (a white socket rather than a blue VGA socket). You'll get a better image as it's a straight digital connection, and won't need to adjust the clock and phase settings to get a perfect image.

What make is the monitor? I'd compare with tests in the computing press before I spent my money, you spend an awful long time gazing at a screen, so it's good to have a decent one.

I agree with isofa about getting abetter monitor but I believe pretty much ALL DVI graphics cards come with an adaptor.

I am in Bradley Stoke, if you need an adaptor and can pick one up from me, you can have it for nothing.

    Thanks.

Heres the Acer monitor I was looking at.

Could you recommend any? I only have around £100 to spend. A yes I think the graphics card does have DVI out.

    Would this be more suitable?

LG 19" Wide Screen TFT 16:10, DVI & D-Sub Interface 5MS Response Time 2000:1 Contrast Ratio

It would although you are going over your budget.

Ebuyer have quite a selection of DVI 19" monitors priced a shade over £100

The GNR one gets some good reviews but there are larger branded name models.
If you go for 5 day delivery it will be free delivery too.

Just noticed this was the same as the screen beach86 posted, and his link is cheaper, provided P+P doesn't push it over £132 on amazon, anyway this was my post:

This LG one: LG L194WT 19 Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor DVI Tilt 5ms 1600:1 Silver has both VGA and DVI imputs, it's £132, but I don't know anything about it, just found from a simple search on Amazon! Worth searching the reviews on Computer Shopper, PC Pro to get some reviews/feedback.
