Manchester Boutique faulty goods
I bought 2 bags from this firm which turned out to be faulty £61.12, and I have to return them to China. There was nothing on their website to give any indication the firm was in China. When I first had an e-mail from them, which I was unhappy with, I read through their returns policy. "If an item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect and you are legally entitled to return it at our expense, we will cover reasonable return costs or provide appropriate return instructions". I feel I read through it all.
In one of my e-mails to them I mentioned there was no mention on their site about any connection with China - they replied, there is on their returns policy. Today, yes there is, they state returns are to Asia, however, I am convinced it wasn't there previously but I have no proof of that. They offered me to buy anything up to 20% higher and just pay shipping, £9.95 and handlig fee! (I could keep the 2 bags).
The next off was 30% refund or a full refund but I pay the shipping costs back to china.
As i said, their policy states "If an item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect and you are legally entitled to return it at our expense, we will cover reasonable return costs or provide appropriate return instructions".
Is it any good me pursuing this?

Is it any good me pursuing this?
In a word, no.
This board is littered with similar tales and a 30% refund is about as good as it gets I'm afraid, so take that and put it down to experience…

Bit sneaky, calling themselves Manchester somethingorother.
Normally these dodgy drop-shippers are called London somethingorother.

I’ve just had a similar experience. Bought a bag for £24.95 which in reality bears little resemblance to the lovely quilted bag in the photo. They have offered me the same terms as you outlined in your post. I think I’m going to pass on my complaint to Citizens advice with a view to them passing it on to Trading standards as in my view these goods are clearly being intentionally mis described. This website needs to be removed.

Trading Standards doesn't have any jurisdiction over non-UK companies...

Good luck getting an overseas based website closed down ! Trading standards are pretty useless at getting UK sellers in line let alone Chinese ones with a false Dutch front.
