Tv licence breach

Haven't had any odd goings on on my bank but have today received this.

Luckily I checked my bank first and saw that the payment had in fact gone. But my spam folder didn't pick this up.

Your TV Licence payment has failed

We are writing to inform you that we were unable to process your most recent payment for your TV Licence. This may have been due to insufficient funds in your account, or a problem with your payment provider.

Under the Communications Act 2003 (Section 363), anyone in the UK who watches or records live television on any channel, or streams content via BBC iPlayer, is required by law to hold a valid TV Licence.

If you continue to use licensable services without a valid licence, you could face prosecution and a fine of up to £1,000, in addition to legal costs.

If you do not watch or record live TV, or use BBC iPlayer, you may not need a licence. Confirm at tvlicensing.co.uk/no-licence.

I've had at least one a day for months now, but google puts them all straight into spam.

The spam setting on Virgin doesn’t pick these up either so I get them regularly, but the ‘from’ email addresses are laughably bad as is the language used.

I’ve switched most of my mail to Gmail now and so far haven’t had any of these, so I’ll be interested to see if that spam system picks it up.

    Very common SPAM mailshot.

I get at least one a day. Easy to spot as I don't have a TV licence.

I get about one a day, interspersed with many more about my failed cloud storage fees, free 000's of casino spins and secret hints from pron stars.

    All go to spam.

I've had loads of TV Licencing emails recently. They've all gone straight to my spam folder.

As everyone else says, it's spam.

And don't assume that there's been a breach of TVL's database; I'm not in their DB but I'm also receiving these spam emails.

If you haven't a TV Licencing the fake ones spam via email, the real one spam via snail mail.
