VAFTGAG price on 15th October 2026
The price for Vanguard FTSE Global All Cap Index Fund (VAFTGAG) fell 0.73% yesterday to 294.70 with an "As at date 15 Oct 2026".
Normally I would expect the price to move in line with US markets given that over 60% is invested in US stocks but yesterday the S&P500 closed up 0.33%.
Any explanation why this might be? Exchange rates don't seem to justify the difference.

It's a fund and valued once a day so the valuation will most likely reflect the previous day.

Exchange rate change explains most of the difference (about 0.6% strengthening of the pound against the dollar between the 9pm UK time pricing points) leaving only a small amount to be explained by the worse performance of non US markets.
Note the pricing point is around US market close so isn't obviously part of the explanation.

Thanks, I only saw a 0.3% strengthening of the pound yesterday but I think that was at UK market close, not US.

There were also drops in world tech stocks over that period - eg Taiwan Semiconductor (one of the 10 biggest companies by market cap in the world) down 2%, Samsung down 9%.
