Morning again, it's a dry start here, but cold. Might warm up a bit I suppose..
Hope your bathroom was finished NRA.
Izzy, you've reminded me that I've still got a bag of two of pea and ham soup in the freezer fro the beginning of this year, it's really thick. Dh likes a thick soup, just as well.
Hope you get a job sorted out Ruby.
YL, I' m trying to build up a stock of tins in my cupboard as well.
Hope the poorly people are feeling better, thoughts to all who haven't been well.
Take care folks.

Morning
Well it’s been a chaotic week. The boiler took 2.5 days but great job and it should save a third of bills, especially with the price of oil! Added in the mix Bdog didn’t take kindly to strange men in the house so lots of barking and grumbling.
Plus DMum need another blood transfusion - only 13 days since the last! So today I have a health check (routine MOT thing), then this afternoon I’m donating blood at the same time as she’s being transfused (there must be a way to cut out the middle man 😂😂), she also has a CT scan this evening but hoping we can change that to be done while she’s at the hospital anyway - it’s good job it’s only 10 minutes away.
Must admit I’m shattered, it feels like it’s been a long week.Hope everyone else has a peaceful end of the week.
take careAA

Morning - thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons. You'll be on your way @Suffolksue so I hope that you have had a great time seeing the BT and didn't have to wait too long. What a day you have ahead of you @AlwaysAllie, fingers crossed it goes smoothly.
After months of grumbling to myself about short teaspoons I've broken out the bank card to order some with longer handles, not long, just normally sized. I don't know why the M&S set I bought years ago have such weirdly sized teaspoons but moaning to myself every single time I used on has finally cheesed myself off!
My Thursday was quiet, very rainy and cold so I stayed indoors. I wanted to watch a couple of programmes from the Plex app but found it wasn't working properly on my TV and my nephew (whose server I run it from) wasn't able to help much as his was fine. As it was OK on my phone I did the 'mirror phone' thing to my TV set and watched the most 'urgent' programme. Felt rather smug too. Later on I decided to turn everything off at the wall which reset Plex. Lost my smugness as I should have done that first. 😶
Then I booked a private COVID vaccination for the week after next. No pharmacists are doing it in the wider local area this year so I've found one in Glasgow for when I'm down next. And it's on the bus route from my hotel so not much hassle either. That cheered me up. I'm not eligible for the NHS Scotland one and this would have been the first time since 2020 without it. As the virus is still roaming around and rising again I wasn't comfortable with the thought of being vulnerable. More happiness.
This morning I have an appointment to have a three day heart monitor fitted at the surgery. I'll take the bag of recycling to empty and may go up to the big town, not sure yet.
Take care everyone, good luck to those having a tough time and those feeling unwell. xx

morning everyone thanks for the start scarlet my soup turned out really thick yesterday but delicious there’s a couple of tubs popped in the freezer for another week .SS enjoy your coach trip . It’s always hassle having things done AA but I always say you can’t have an omelette without breaking eggs but it’s always nice when the house is put back and even nicer if it saves you money fingers crossed the rest of the day goes smoothly hopefully you are due a restful weekend. Gers we had a day of hubby thinking it was the end of the world when the television wouldn’t work the other day turning off and on fixed it it’s the equivalent of hitting the top of the telly years ago 😂 it’s my volunteering day it’s a bit chilly but dry I hope the van isn’t as full as last week I was shattered. Beef stew taken out of the freezer I will drop a couple of dumplings in I know I shouldn’t but what the heck. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, I love the sound of the soup! I too have been stocking up but need to get some bottled water too.
Enjoy the Tapestry SS, something I would like to see.
What a day ahead of you Allie, hope all goes smoothly.
I went with DD and the little one yesterday to Ikea for Christmas wrapping paper, also went to TKMaxx for a browse and got another couple of presents. I actually wrapped some things up too so I know where I'm at.
The little one is being dropped off by other Granny (who's on her way to work) and she'll stay until Sunday afternoon so her Mum and Dad can have a weekend away. I think they have tickets to a concert for a band they like.
Hope you get on ok with the heart monitor Gers.
Take care. XX

Morning all
Raining here and will be on and off all day, I have a load on the wm but that will have to go on the airer or in the TD.
Jacket spuds for dinner tonight, I have that meeting at 4 re the job so will put them in the microwave when I get back and crisp them up in the Air fryer, the pork belly was a success last night.
I have booked and paid for out accommodation for Budapest, I need to look at parking or taxi costs, we can get the train back but not going as it’s too early. It might work out cheaper for us to drive and park.
Gets hope all goes well with the heart monitor xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Pouring with rain here, expected to stop by lunchtime though
Enjoy the Tapestry Sue and hope the queues aren't too long.
Well I've booked our holiday for next March, lets hope we actually get there this time! Now to organise the travel insurance which was very expensive last year so I'm sure it will obviously have gone up this year!
Hope you have a quieter week next week Allie
I used to enjoy Mark's pea and ham soup until the stopped doing it and changed to pea and mint - yuck
Have a good day all x

Morning all, thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons.
@Suffolksue - You'll be on your way by now, I hope you have a lovely trip out.
@AlwaysAllie - I'm not surprised you're feeling shattered! I had to smile at you cutting out the middle man and I have my fingers crossed your DMum's CT scan can happen while she's at the hospital for the blood transfusion. Hugs to you both.
@Gers - Happy new teaspoons - why on earth we put up with things we're not happy with for so long I'll never know!
@RedRuby1231 - Good luck with the potential job meeting.
It's a bright and sunny start to the day after overnight rain, very little wind and feeling much cooler but it should stay dry for the best part of the day. Top daytime temperatures around 12 deg. It was eerily quiet when I got up until I realised the primary school over the road from me closed yesterday for half term - no school drop-off traffic shenanigans! Other local schools don't finish for another week.
I sorted through my baking tins etc yesterday and, happily, most of them do fit in the new air fryer so I may not have to buy any replacements after all. I binned a few that weren't really good enough to go to the CS - I'm not even sure why I'd hung on to them for so long. 🙄 After that I booked my annual eye test appointment for next week but was less successful with the flu jab one. The online booking system still wasn't working so I tried phoning instead; after hanging on for some considerable time and eventually getting through, the line went dead. 🤨 So, on to Plan C - I will have a walk to the surgery and book it in person.
I'm postponing the usual Friday admin and instead will be out and about: walk to GP surgery, walk on to Sainsbugs for some items I can't get on my delivery order, bus back up the hill to the Co-op for what I need from there, then walk back home via the Little Library. By the time I get back I doubt I'll be doing much else today! Usual fish tea to look forward to.
Right, time to get a wriggle on for my not so exciting but necessary excursion so I'll wish everyone the best of days. Take care all, hugs for anyone needing one. xx
