Finding charging points themselves is very easy, theres loads.

what comes with difficulty, especially if you mainly charge at home is the thought of getting ripped off, where its difficult to find fast chargers with a cheap enough unit rate, anything 60p/kwh is about on par with the equivalent cost in petrol.

For the occasional charge away from home, theirs no point joining a subscription.

I have got so many apps on my phone related to charging and parking its ridiculous, buy i mostly use Tesla and Electroverse.

  • I have found motorway fast chargers sometimes don't accept a credit/debit card. They're meant to, but the technology doesn't always work. I've never had a problem with my Electroverse card.

I didn't just buy an ev then worry about where to charge it - that would just be weird

Indeed, apologies but I believe there was an earlier post that made this clear that I hadn't seen.

for an update I live in a rural community and travel to East Lothian - there are charging points at Moffat and then again charging points at my destination in East Lothian. I am not an Octopus customer but do have the electroverse app - perhaps I was just overthinking but don't really want to go into all the details of my journey and the fact that I was only there a short time and needed to charge the car at some point (only one charge point on the actual journey ) was trying to calculate where was best to charge, leave it till I arrive at my destination or rapid charge less than half way there and top up when I got there so I could return home without having to stop again

Yes thank you - I left on a full charge and have an MG4 with a 50kw battery so have a range of about 185 miles, my journey was only about 125 miles but I wasn't going to be staying overnight to do a slow charge once at my destination and only on the motorway for about 60 miles then on country roads - anyway it just seemed that different chargers had different apps and some you save your card details in etc
