apcoa airport fine on hired vehicle

I have been trying to search advice on how it works with appealing an fine incurred when renting a car but not found anything.. Can anyone advise or direct me?

I want to know if it is still possible to claim I was not the driver if the ticket and rental are in my name?

Also is there a way I can avoid admin fee from the rental company over this by preempting somehow (dealing directly with apcoa before they issue it to the rental company/telling the rental company to pass it on to me without responding to apcoa)?

It's already in post 1 of NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST. Dead easy. There's a whole section on appealing hire & company car cases.

And when you win, the lease firm might refund the admin fee.

You do have to receive a NTH in your name first though (you can't appeal without that) and there is a danger of the lease firm just paying it when they get the NTK.

So email them NOW and forbid them to pay it, pointing out that there is no keeper liability at Airports, so the invoice is none of their business or concern and they MUST transfer the non-existent liability to you. And NOT pay it because you will not refund their error.
