Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's dry here, cold though.
Not a lot going on here, just the usual household jobs .Last week I started sorting out summer clothes to put away, don't think I'll be wearing them any time soon, unless we go to Australia (I wish). So I'll finish that job
Thinking of the poorly people - Coxy, you don't sound too good, and Snoozer's Steve. Have a good day if you can, take care folks.

Morning. Thanks for the starters
Can’t remember when I last posted. Anyway, back to college invigilating and a meeting on Monday which was fine - it’ll be a slow few weeks there until the students gets some learning done on which they can be tested.
Today is day 2 of new boiler installation - kitchen is in chaos (didn’t know it was a 2 day job…new flue and pipe work etc etc too) but the guys are very tidy and polite. DM struggled without any heating as she feels the cold intensely - I loved it!
I did manage to slip on the bottom stair (going up thankfully) and bash my bad elbow and land on my bad ankle - think I needed a padded cell!!Have a good day all

Morning folks and thanks for starting GERS. It's currently looking gloomy but we are supposed to get some sun. Fingers crossed.
Before the cold weather arrives at the end of the week I really must get those blooming Japanese anemone cut back. Gardening is such hard work these days and I am envious of my neighbour. She is 90 and still does all her own gardening! I can see her from upstairs whizzing around with her lawn mower and hacking back the overgrown shrubs etc. Both her back and front gardens are beautiful and a credit to her.
What a drama my shopping trip into Savers turned out to be! As I needed quite a few bits and pieces I picked up a basket which I rarely do as I then end up juggling my way to the till. Half way round I somehow got my cross body bag zip pull stuck in the basket. An assistant saw me struggling and tried to help. We got nowhere and then the manageress was summoned with a bag of tools! We got nowhere until she said I think we are going to have to break of the zip pull is that ok.. The other option was going home on the bus still attached to the basket! So finally between the three of us it was success. I think they might lock the door if they see me coming again!
My air fryer was duly delivered on time after lunch and that started another tussle getting it up on the worktop and free of all the packaging. And yes YL It was a very tight fit. All the packaging is now in the recycle bin due to be emptied tomorrow, Of course I had to test it out and I managed to cook some fish and hm fries. The fish was perfect but the fries a bit overdone but edible. I'll do better next time! My old one is now in the garage waiting for DS's next tip run.
I hope today is a less stressful one. Have a good day all with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe x

Good morning
It's looking bright and dry outside, not that I've ventured out yet, big dog is still in bed and won't go out until he's had his breakfast. It's a dog's life.
Yesterday I decided to tidy the bathroom cupboard. It was in a bit of a mess, mainly due to finding room for all the hair products Mrs ND gave me earlier in the year. I had a basket that wasn't being used, well it was but the contents got thrown, so it's nice and tidy again. Then I moved on to the cupboard under the kitchen sink, where I found 4 different bottles of kitchen cleaner. DH gets them when he goes shopping for various jobs, and chucks (there's no other word for it) them under the sink when finished. Still I won't need any for a while.
Today I may move onto the tins cupboard if I don't have anything else to do, oh the excitement of it. Tea tonight will be pork chops with mini roasties and veg.
Have a good day all, hugs for the poorlies. Take care.

Morning again - my, it's chilly! And gloomy. And windy. And rain in the forecast.
After my excellent night on Monday - Tuesday, last night it was dire. Even my watch said 'very low'. No idea why though probably because I stayed awake longer than I normally do so 'missed' my falling asleep time. I got caught up in applying for a new credit card offer (from the MSE mail) which gives 12 months free Apple TV - not that I need another credit card so I won't be using it. I've cancelled my cleaner for this morning as I thought I'd stay in bed but that's not happened.
There's no plans for today yet. I've got some meds to collect from the machine though they can wait a bit longer. Today may well be slothful, should I be dusting instead of the cleaner? I hope not.
Take care all, the winter is drawing in, the days are shortening and bugs are abound. Hugs to all. xx

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x Sorry you had an awful night. Staying put and having a quiet day sounds like a plan.
My toothache has gone - hurrah! Very lovely dentist. I do still have the lurgy from DDad though and it comes with an annoying cough, but I'm dosing up. I have an IV tomorrow afternoon so hoping to be okay for that. We have workmen here this afternoon to fit some shutters so I'm off to collect DDad shortly and we will stop at the village cafe for a late breakfast. He went to London yesterday and was falling asleep in the armchair, so a quiet day will be good for him.
I love a good cupboard sort out @remmie it's very cathartic.
Sorry to hear you got tangled up in Savers @TravellingAbuela how frustrating. Glad the new AF is already earning it's keep.
Take it easy @AlwaysAllie x
I have some washing to do later and dinner is grilled pork chops with veg, nice and easy.
Have a good day all

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, batten down the hatches for later today, it's to be a stormy one. Sorry you had a bad night, take it easy today.
I was up before 5 this morning to take friend's son to hospital for a procedure (friends are on holiday and son got a cancellation). Once home again I was so tired I had 5 minutes on the sofa, it's going to be a long day. I'll pick him up later once I hear from his sister who's going to the hospital after uni.
There's a biting wind today along with the strong wind - I don't think the washing would stay on the line if I put it out.
Glad your toothache has gone Coxy, good luck with the interview tomorrow.
Bubble wrap definitely needed for you Allie
What a palaver TA, sorry but I had to laugh at you being stuck wearing a shopping basket!
Thinking of you and Steve Snoozer.
I took 6 Vinted parcels to the drop off point yesterday and I've just sold something else but that may have to wait until tomorrow. I have more items to list - we cleared out the lost property at school from last year and there were 8 winter coats that haven't been claimed so I've washed them and will try to sell them and put the money in the school fund. Can't believe that parents don't realise when their child loses a coat, I think they just go and buy another!
Hoping everyone is well, take care. XX

Morning all
Blue sky out there again but feels a bit cooler today. Yesterday was very mild outside though
@TravellingAbuela you did make me laugh, glad it got sorted eventually though. Go back and ask for the CCTV, I dare you!
I sympathise with you @Gers. My cough hasn't been keeping me awake at night except at 4am this morning when I woke up feeling like I was choking and had a long coughing fit. Amazingly, for me, I managed to get back to sleep for an hour or so.
Nothing planned today except looking for a holiday for next year. The lovely one to the Maldives for our wedding anniversary last year that had to be cancelled has gone up over £3000 so will keep looking!
Have a good day all xx

Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers. Sorry to hear you had a poor night's sleep, a day of sloth sounds just the ticket for today.
@AlwaysAllie - Be careful on those stairs! I hope your new boiler will soon be up and running.
@TravellingAbuela - Oh dear, what a performance in Savers! Of course you had to try out the air fryer as soon as it arrived - I did too. I've kept the packaging (only temporarily) although how on earth I'd get it back in should I need to is another story! Mine has a name now - she's called Annie.
@remmie - Well done on the cupboard tidying, it's amazing how much clutter we can accumulate, either unwittingly or with the help of others. 😶
@Coxy11 - A pat on the back for your dentist, such a relief to be pain-free.
@camelot1001 - Good luck with selling the unclaimed coats - although how they've not been claimed beggars belief.
@Chrisca50 - Such a shame about the holiday cancellation, fingers crossed you find a pleasing replacement.
Last night I finished off another sofa throw that I'd knitted from oddments of yarn stash - all it needed was a simple crochet border that I'd been putting off - so that's another thing off the To Do list. At the time I had my eye on an old episode of Frost (one I hadn't seen before) and it struck me that I'm going to have to re-connect the TV to my new wi-fi when I change broadband. It should be a simple job but, for me, it could be another challenge waiting in the wings. 🙄
It looks like a lovely day outside with blue sky, sunshine and just the slightest of breezes although it might not be as warm as it looks since passers-by seem to be muffled up more than of late. It could be time to dig out a warmer coat in favour of the lightweight jacket I've been wearing. I've had a good start to the day with an email from my energy provider telling me my Warm Home Discount has now been applied to my account so I have a very healthy credit balance for extra heating for the colder months, should it be needed. Apart from a few 5-minute pottering jobs to keep me out of mischief, there's nothing out of the ordinary happening today. Tea is pork pie, mushy peas and mash.
Have a good day all, healing thoughts for those who need them, take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
morning everyone just I did nothing but flit about before I went to do my cleaning job 2 lines of washing hung out nearly dry now it’s a brisk wind a ham in the slow cooker I’m making some peas pudding now we will have that tonight it will do us a few days . The lady I went to see yesterday which I was dreading wasn’t to bad she’s used to doing what she wants and having her own way you have to tread carefully with her but I’ve worked for her for a lot of years I just go with the flow I was shocked at how much weight she has lost and she went between been angry tearful and happy which is only to be expected I don’t think I will be going there much longer which is sad she was always such a tough lady and very determined I’m afraid this has beaten her . Camelot you would get a shock at some of the brand new things we get in the charity shop still have tags on can’t be bothered to take them back a young girl came in a few weeks ago with a brand new pushchair high chair and baby bouncer the palest green with an ABC pattern on them none of us could fathom out how to fold the pushchair I caught her at the car to ask if she would come and show us she said she didn’t have a clue never used them she liked her little girl all in pink and they didn’t match she looked silly it beggars belief are these the ones at the end of the month have no money and don’t know why . TA im another one that laughed at the basket story they will be locking the door next time they see you coming. Hope you manage to get a better night sleep Gers . I’m going to have a cuppa and tackle some ironing a job I hate . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing
