£200 Hotel Voucher for Santander fixed ISA
Has anyone used this offer, I can't seem to find any information in the T&C on the hotel chains.
Fancy £400 in hotel vouchers?
Transfer your full balance in one go from a non-Santander ISA to one of our Fixed Rate ISAs
Transferring £25,000 and above gets you a £200 voucher
Transferring £50,000 and above gets you 2 x £200 vouchersFind out how you can earn your voucher
Ts and Cs apply. The offer may be withdrawn at any time. Only one voucher may be used per booking
Gemini says:
Based on the Santander Fixed Rate ISA terms and conditions, the offer utilizes TLC Marketing Worldwide UK Ltd’s voucher portal. The terms and conditions page on Santander's website does not explicitly list individual hotel names or chains that are eligible for booking with the vouchers.
Instead, the page notes that the vouchers are administered and managed by TLC Marketing Worldwide UK Ltd and are used to make bookings through TLC’s designated voucher portal.
To find out which specific hotels are included in the network, you will generally need to access the TLC portal using the registration code provided after completing your qualifying ISA transfer.
What happens if there are no hotels in places where you are going? Looks a bit strange to me not having to state eligible chains. For all I know there a handful of eligible hotels in the outer Hebrides or worse still where I live!

Unless there is a significant premium in using these kind of "gift" offers I will almost always pass.
And unless the offer identifies the hotels, restrictions etc how can the value/worth of the reward be judged?
Much prefer a cash reward so that I can choose my own hotel (or restaurant, supermarket or savings account).

Choose your ISA based on the interest being offered, not some unknown incentive. You might find the voucher requires a minimum spend or has other restrictions that mean it is worthless to you. If the interest rate is the best you can find, then take the offer you have nothing to lose, if its not, go elsewhere.

Yes I'm sure you are both correct, the opaqueness of the offer should be a warning. However, I was wondering if anyone had chosen it so I could check. Apparently not, MSErs have more sense.

With many of these types of offers you discover that nothing is available at peak dates, and much is only available in locations nobody wants to travel to, and at short notice.
Transfer the ISA if there is a financial advantage within the ISA, not on the basis of some vague offer.

I’d be hesitant to transfer that much money without knowing which hotels are actually available through the scheme. The fact that the T&Cs don’t seem to name any hotel chains would make me want to see the booking portal before committing, especially if you’re planning to use the vouchers for a specific destination. Even if the portal has plenty of hotels overall, that doesn’t guarantee there’ll be suitable options where you want to go or on the dates you need. I’d contact Santander and ask whether they can provide a list of participating hotels or let you see the available options before making the transfer. £400 sounds attractive, but not if you end up with vouchers you struggle to use.

That £400 is 2 vouchers, only 1 can be used per booking (when booking whatever it is you can book).
Even if that £400 was given to you in brand new tenners rather than a couple of vouchers there's still the small matter of having to fix £50k at nowhere near the best rate available.
Someone will do the sums.

Agree with TELLIT01. These voucher portals often price off higher rates and block peak dates, so a £200 voucher can end up worth a lot less than it sounds. If you do take one, pick the hotel and dates first and note what the same room costs to book normally. FWIW a free tracker like HotelPriceTracker shows that room’s price history, so you can see if the portal’s rate is inflated. Otherwise pick the ISA on the rate and treat the voucher as a bonus
