National Parking Control - Not Parked wholly within a Marked Bay

compact101

Friend parked their car in a Uni carpark at the weekend for kids football.
Been parking here for couple of years and no issue.
They got a letter from National Parking Control with photos showing they weren't parked in a bay.
The car park is always rammed with double parking, parking on the grass verge etc.

I have tried to read the Newbie Thread, but just wondering is it worth challenging?

Googling the Car Park is seems the words are on the signhttps://www.sport.manchester.ac.uk/about/armitage/

The letter days "Reason for Issue: Parked on a Roadway where Prohibited"

Even though it says that you must be fully parked in the bay, they may have an argument if there was lack of other spaces and others doing the same.

No that won't be an argument, not worth even trying!

There is nothing that will win with the PPC they aren't interested in cancelling there's no money to be made in that. The OP needs to follow the Newbies thread it doesn't look like plan A will work either but no need to pay these parasites:

"There may be times when our car parks are full. If this is the case, we would recommend parking off the site close enough to walk"

Well that's the end of kids football at that Uni.

I'm not joking. That's killed the kids football. Tell your friend he cannot attend there because this will happen to lots of parents every time. Not worth it.

And some victims will even be stupid enough to think it's a real fine and pay it. Some people are easily duped.

Not your friend. Obviously the friend simply needs to read NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST
