ebay postage mayhem! Help me post sold item!
I last sold an item last week. Got the postage QR code, all good.
This week I've sold an item. My buyer has paid postage (chose Evri small parcel 1-2kg £3.20) but when I select "post your item" ebay takes me to purchase your label Evri £4.15
Please help, as I don't understand what has gone wrong.

Is this a simple delivery item?
It sounds like it is custom postage (ie you have selected the postal service and price) and the actual price is higher than the price suggested and entered. Unless you can send on a cheaper service you may have to accept a loss on the cost of postage.
What was the item/category? Very few categories are not simple delivery only, and if it was simple delivery the label.should be prepaid (either paid fully by the buyer or deducted from the amount the item sold for)

check the breakdown of the money received from the sale to see whether this was a custom or simple delivery item.

The category is Kitchen tools & gadgets.
It's a low value sale. The order shows £3.20 postage itemised together with the sold price as "what you earned". I can't find whether its the usual simple delivery.
I could choose the cheapest available label, InPost £3.71, or put it through as a 1kg, but it weighs 1.3kg..

If the £3.20 shows as your earnings then it looks like it is custom postage and you will need to buy a label that equates with the service chosen by the buyer.

The difference between 'what your buyer paid' and 'what you received' are ebay's buyer fee and any simple delivery label costs. Another giveaway is that simple delivery postage charges are shown with vat separate.

The other question is 'was this a buy it now listing?'
If so it is quite possible that postage prices have increased since the item was listed. (Quite a few of my large letter items had postage set at £1.15 but to.revise the listing I'd have to switch to simple delivery)
