DCBL Notice of Debt Recovery
Hi
This is my first time posting on any forum but I really need advice on this please it is a bit long winded but I hope it makes sense and someone can help.
We had previously received a letter from DCBL asking for £155 payment for parking more than 10 mins in a Sainsbury's car park there was a photo and as we hadn't yet changed our address with the DVLA so Euro carparks had sold the debt on. I was quite shaken up by the letter and so started paying it however I have now cancelled the last two DD's to them as after receiving another letter asking for £340 for two parking fines which we were never told about first by Euro carparks There is no photo evidence so I don't believe it is actually us.
The carpark in question is an old NCP carpark barriers were taken off and its a new pay by phone system but not very well signposted however we have paid when parking there previously.
I have since been told that I am not legally obliged to pay it as no actual evidence no previous letter from Euro car parks or any chance to appeal it.
Hope someone can help!🙏

Ignore the powerless debt collectors letters
Read the 4th post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum
Euro Car Parks have definitely NOT sold the alleged debt on, they are forbidden to do so due to their current KADOE contract with the DVLA, they DVLA explicitly ban private parking companies from selling the data on, so the data controller is still the private parking company ( you made that part up. )

It's an alleged debt not a proven debt and cannot be "sold on" it certainly isn't a "fine" either, just a speculative invoice from chancers.

Thanks I have looked on the newbies parking fine thread saying to ignore the letter.
Sorry to ask but is it worth doing a Plan A template email now or just literally ignore? 🤔🙈0 -
Plan A is always an excellent idea right up until any future court claim is ongoing
Frankly, Plan A should be mandatory from the get go. !

But post 4 of the NEWBIES thread already shows a picture of your exact letter, begs for no threads about it and tells you what to do.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

OP
You may want to remove your DCBL reference number, your VRM and the parking charge numbers from your first post.
