Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Blimey it's a nippy start this morning. The forecast promises a day of drizzle but it's not happening yet as far as I can make out.
A day of same old same old today. There are the usual jobs waiting in the wings, some have been in there too long! (Hanging my head in shame!) The other half of last weeks Leek and Potato soup has come out of the freezer so that will do for a few lunches this week. I have yet to christen tonight's dinner. I will see what appeals after I consult my inventory, which I am STILL keeping up to date!
Have a good day folks with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe x

Morning again, it's cold again here. Yesterday was the same.
Ds2 and Dil came over, we had a sandwich lunch and caught up with their news. D's took some stuff to the tip for us, now we haven't a car it can be difficult. I know the council will collect, but it costs.
Visiting one of my housebound friends this afternoon, haven't seen her for a week or two.
That's all that's happening today I think.
Hope everyone is ok, take care folks.

Good morning, thanks Scarlet.
A dull start outside with rain forecast about 9am. Yesterday was mild and sunny.
Now, I'm going to have a moan. While taking big dog on one of his treks, DH saw a lady I used to see regularly when I was working, but haven't seen for about 2 years. She asked what I'm doing now and OH gave her a run down. She apparently decided my life is so boring now and I need to get out more. A group has been formed in the village for ladies only once a week and she demanded he send me to it. I would go if I wanted to, but that would be my decision. OH just thought it was funny and told her I do what I want, but it really annoyed me.
Anyway, in my boring life, OH is still waiting for the part he ordered, if its in today I'll go with him to collect and pop into the supermarket for a couple of things needed.
Garlic and herb chicken tonight, with chips and coleslaw.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, great that a tip run was done for you.
It's overcast this morning with rain due on and off all day, glad I got some outside jobs done yesterday including putting the outdoor table under cover and cleaning the downstairs windows outside. I also cleaned all the high shelves in the kitchen and rearranged them.
Sunday dinner was lovely, particularly the roasties and of course there was cake! The birthday girl was surprisingly chirpy after a night out in Glasgow on Saturday. I was given some leftovers so that's dinner for tonight sorted.
Allotment this morning and then some more cleaning and tidying at home, I'm determined to get everything sorted this week then I can see about decorating some rooms.
Hope your DD hears something soon Ruby, glad you got the curtains.
Have a good day. Take care. XX

Dull and overcast here and rain due later, I am off to mums this morning to do a few jobs I will strip her bed and change it and I want to see if I can get someone in to shampoo her carpets.
Dinner tonight for OH and I is shepherds pie which is already made I will just do some veg with it, I saved some gravy from the roast yesterday which will go nicely with it, dd is working a late shift today.
I started getting my winter clothes out of storage yesterday so will finish that off today, I have also ordered a drop box for parcels which should be arriving today, OH can put it up at the weekend, our parcels are often left on the step in all weathers so this should protect them a bit.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning everyone
It's dull here this morning, but not windy, according to the forecast it's supposed to get sunny later in the week.
I got my shed tidied yesterday, mostly little ones toys she's chucked in and did a bit more garden tidying. I took mam for a walk along the prom in the afternoon, she really enjoyed it and it was at dads' suggestion so he didn't fuss. He's looking tired just now and frailer, but seems happy enough in the care home.
When I got home I had a lovely long chat with DD in Nuremberg and read some of my Sunday Times. I'm going into work an hour earlier this morning, the member of staff who has been causing problems has now gone on sick leave, which is actually better then her being there! She's been acting like a teenager and I've had enough of it.
Red Ruby DD asked me to get her an air fryer for Christmas…pale green to match her kitchen things.
Right best get on, hope everyone has a good day x

Still coughing for England here but at least it doesn't keep me awake at night so that's a bonus.
No plans today so just pootling around. I've just picked a few runner beans but there's still a few there which will be picked when they get bigger. Cleaned out the bird baths and filled them up again. Now sitting with a coffee to decide what I might want to do next.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all, thanks @ScarletRibbons for starting us off.
It's a gloomy start to the week with very little breeze and rain due for the best part of the day until teatime when mist may roll in. Apparently, daytime and night time temperatures should both be around the 14 or 15 deg mark.
I finished sewing the curtain header tape on yesterday (successfully) so I'm feeling more optimistic about doing the other pairs that need altering. The sewing machine is still set up on the dining table for a couple of other bits and bobs this afternoon before I put it away. I've just given the inside of the fridge a clean before my grocery delivery arrives; I had hoped everything I ordered would be in stock but alas, there are two subs. One day maybe …….. 🙄 Tea tonight will be a Cornish pasty with some veg. My bunged up ear is slightly better today but I'll carry on with the ear drops for a couple more days. Ironically, there was a flyer for an ear health check service in this morning's junk mail. 😁
I hope everyone has a good start to the new week even if it does seem to be the boring same old, same old. Take care, stay safe. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Hi everyone,
Just posting before going to pick Steven up from the Papworth (it's no longer in Papworth itself but in a new building at Added Brookes). They didn't do the procedure because apparently he's atypical and they have to do a bypass. A bit worrying but he couldn't really be in a better place. It'll be about 4 to 6 weeks they said, they need to have a multi-disciplinary meeting with his lymphoma team.
Have a good day.
