Basic smart watch
I would like to get a smart watch just for general day to day. Set alarms each day and track my running speed and distance, heart rate etc.
Dont want to link to any sort app. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

You should be able to get a simpler smart watch with fitness tracking, heart rate and O2 monitoring in the £30-50 range. I'd definitely suggested getting a branded one rather than a no-brand option.
You'll probably need to connect it with your smart phone, though. You don't have to actively use the app.

Probably going to need an app with that watch, at the 'fitness tracker' end of the market especially, since they come with very little memory and any readings that you want to keep for more than a day or so will need transferring to something less volatile.
Presumably you want to monitor/record your vitals, times etc over extended periods?
OH has the Samsung Fit3, does what you need.

Usually, to get that kind of data and sufficient data set to allow you to build up a trend will require an app for both the data storage and the display of data trends.
What is your reason for not wanting an app?
Is it that you want to be able to go for a run and not need to carry a phone? That facility is common on fitness watches.
OR, is it that you don't have a smart phone? Some of the devices can link to a laptop / PC as an alternative.
OR, is it that you don't want the data going to any other device in any way at all?

I bought this smartwatch a few days ago
I dont find that heart rate monitor that useful, I have changed the settings today, to monitor every 10 minutes as opposed to every 30 minutes.
I would have expected it to be constant. Maybe I can change the settings, but that will impact the battery life.
It tells you if you are stressed or getting enough deep sleep, etc. but AI says they are not very accurate.
I got mine to track my health; I understand smartwatches with a strap across your chest, make more accurate measurements.

You might want to consider a Xiaomi Smart Band. You would need the app if you want to track speed, distance etc.

I just got a generic smart watch about 3 years ago, cost about £30. Still works fine. My OH has a fitbit and for things like step counting, it is pretty accurate compared to that. Mine also has a far better battery life, about 7 days. Watch straps are fairly easy and cheap to replace. Pretty sure I got my replacement strap for about a tenner. You only need to know the width where it joins to the body of the watch.
