Bosch washing machine 5-year warranty confusion
This is actually a good news story, but highlighting you have to be careful else it might not have been.
Just bought a Bosch Series 6 WGG24400GB, currently reduced from £599 to £499. (Our previous Bosch w/m lasted 13 years). Currys website states manufacturers warranty as 5 years. Got the washing machine yesterday, all installed OK, then read through the Bosch warranty info that came with it, and realised it said it comes with a 2-year warranty and could be extended to 5 years for another £99, so very annoyed. Looked on the Bosch website and it confirmed the same. Double checked Currys website, and definitely said 5 years.
So I decided to register the 2 year warranty with Bosch, in case I was missing something, and lo and behold when I did that, it then showed a green banner saying 5 years warranty included! HOWEVER, be very careful, because off the screen you have to then scroll down to then activate that free extended warranty - if you don't scroll down then you won't see it and it's not obvious you need to.
Also, not yet got the confirmation email, but it shows the correct dates in the online certificate which you can print out.
Just in case this helps anyone.
One more thing. Bosch no longer provide the outlet hose U-bend with their new machines, and I did not retain the old one from the old w/m before it was collected. So be sure to keep yours if you have one. Annoys me that Bosch state you need to by it as an "accessory", when it is really a necessary part of most installations. Currys should be aware of this and suggest customers remove it before they take the old machine away.

Out of curiosity if they don't supply the outlet/waste hose how do you attach a new/used one as my Samsung w/m hose goes from inside the machine so I think you have to undo the nuts/ screws to gain access and then undo a juberlee clip to release the hose.
How is yours attached then ?

The hose comes attached. But Bosch used to supply a U-shaped bit of plastic with the washing machine. This allowed you to bend the hose into an upside-down U if that's how the machine needs to connect to the drain.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
Most machine wastes are now plugged in rather than tucked into an open standpipe so in most cases it will be just another piece of plastic waste.

Sorry I was reading it as the OP meant no hose supplied but meant no u shaped object to to insert hose into waste standpipe
Sorry.

Possibly the issue is that cheaper Bosch washing machines do not come with this possibility to extend the warranty for free, but the more expensive ones ( and Siemens ones) do. So some scope for mistakes on the retailers website.
At least Curry's mention it clearly. Some retailers bury the info, in the hope you will buy unecessary warranty insurance from them.
I did not get an e mail either, but I phoned them and confirmed it was OK.

Yes, when I plumbed our original in 13 years ago I did it via a standard washing machine trap, and so just did the same for this one, given then just a straight swap.

I did get a confirmation email from Bosch a little while after I posted.

Be interesting to see if it lasts 13 years with no issues as Bosch aren't what they once were in terms of quality.

Yes, same thought occurred to me, given nothing much ever seems as good now.

A lot depends on how much it is used. Twice a week and I would hope it would last >10 years.
Our last Siemens ( a Bosch really) lasted 6 years until first repair ( motor bushes, inevitably just outside the % years warranty) and another 2 years before the bearings went and kaput.. However it gets used at least twice a day. ( on average, more some days)
