Been with Axle since launch, GivEnergy Gen 1 3.6 inverter, 2 x 5.2 batteries. Earn minimum £10 month, export 4-6 times a month for an hour a go so, imho, minimal battery degradation and worth the negligible potential cost.

If you have the kit it is a no brainer.

I am/advise you keep an eye on SmugBug as they are launching a competitor product.

I am getting fed up with IOF, it's supposed to be great but it has many drawbacks.

    1. Yes it's "net" i.e. you get pay/paid the same for import and export, but of course you have the round trip costs for AC/DC circa 15%
    2. It stops discharge before the end of the peak times even if the battery is above the 20% limit, and doesn't reset to "ECO" so it uses the grid in that period not the battery. Also that affects the total points available in Saving Sessions
    3. Happy Hour hmmm "fill your boots" they say, well you can't, because despite having booked 2 hours of "free" electricity and set my battery to export, no sirree it switches that off so it uses my battery and any incoming solar first. Bearing mind that with my situation equipment wise I would possibly use 8kWh in 2 hours. Of course I could switch on an Electric heater (1.8kW) for those hours and put it in the garage, switch on every light c100W , I could go on but I don't think that's the Green thing to do, but this is supposed to be a "reward"

So I am going to work the numbers and go to Flux(vanilla) or Cosy possibly.

As for thrashing the battery , well Axle say 4-6 times a month usually for 1 hour, my battery can only discharge 2.5kWh so that's hardly a problem.IOF chucks it out for 3 hours every day.

I am also disappointed with Octopus pocketing 56% of the DFS payments for saving sessions, escpecially after Greg's commens of last January after NESO took over ESO from NG and dropped the guaranteed payments.

Runs monthly, so maybe 4 x £2/3 rounded up to £10 minimum payout per month onto your account which can be withdrawn as you want. Takes a day or two to hit your bank.

I have earned £120 and have £50 ready to take, waiting for an Octopus winter electric bill beyond my monthly payment!
