Flooring company refusing to reinstall laminate unless we pay for subfloor repairs

Not meaning to stick the boot in, but your financial position and wife’s pregnancy aren’t Tapi’s concern.
Your floor is unsuitable, they’ll relay it if you fix it - which is fair enough. You’re unlikely to get any costs back from them.

Tapi’s answer will be they offered a solution which you refused.

To which OP might counter that the floor was assessed as suitable by the same company and the same fitters in 2023, so why isn't it now?

Without knowing exactly what is wrong with floor the answer is unknown.
Why is the existing plywood subfloor isuneven and flexible
Has the ply or the floor beneath it deteriorated for some reason?
Was that existing flooring or did Tapi lay it?0 -
According to the 1st thread nothing was done by tapi as OP said tapi sent someone to look at the house flooring and said the floors were ok to lay the flooring without any work needed .

It’s a separate finance company (Novuna Finance) so I’m not expecting any conflicts lin that regard
. Tapi Carpets & Floors Ltd, registered in England & Wales (company number 09247255). Registered office: 1a Spur Road, Orpington, Kent, BR6 0PH. Tapi Carpets & Floors Ltd is authorised and registered by the Financial Conduct Authority (registration number 706358). We act as a credit broker for the purpose of introducing credit provided by the lender Novuna Personal Finance, a trading style of Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC.
It's not conflict, It's a case of they will talk to each other. Compared to a CC being used.

3 years use. Especially if no flooring over base?

I understand that Tapi and Novuna will communicate, but as far as I know, they are separate entities, and Novuna is not Tapi’s own lender as you suggested.
I’ve requested a short written assessment of the subfloor from the independent fitter. When he visited, he seemed comfortable with the job and has agreed to take it on, so I hope his response will support my view that the subfloor was suitable for refitting.
I’m pursuing these claims on the basis of hope, not expectation

You need to read the first post again
“They say the existing plywood subfloor is uneven and flexible and needs remedial work first, “It was the independent fitter the OP brought in who said it was okay.

Boohoo wasn't referring to the first post of this thread, but to the first post of the OP's previous thread where he wrote:
Tapi sent someone to inspect and measure the floors, and we were told the existing floors were suitable for the flooring we had chosen. No subfloor preparation or levelling work was recommended or carried out.
